Unknown - Senor Abate Round Lyrics

Senor Abate (round)

Senor Abate, yo sono, yo sono, yo sono amalate.
Sancto padre vieni, dato mela benedici one, la benedici one.
Hoch Sie der Teufel, wenn Sie nicht kommen, hoch Sie der Teufel,
wenn Sie nicht kommen, hoch Sie der Teufel.

This is a famously chaotic, multilingual snippet from a canon composed by Ludwig van Beethoven (WoO 163).
It is a humorous piece written for his friend, Abbot (Abate) Maximilian Stadler, and it blends broken Italian and dramatic German.

Here is the line-by-line translation, keeping in mind that the Italian is intentionally misspelled/ungrammatical
in the original text to mimic a panicked, dramatic sick person.

Abbot sir, I am, I am, I am ill.
Holy father please give me your blessing, your blessing
The devil take you if you don't come soon,
The devil take you if you don't come soon, if you don't come soon.
