They Won't All Be Good Days
Johnny used to walk, with his head up in the sky,
Never quite knowing, what his feet would pass by,
He couldn't understand it when, his old lady cried at night,
She knew, like only a woman knows, when something ain't right
There's always something waiting around the corner, when you least expect it,
Something that knocks you on your backside, like a solid hit,
Well, keep on living, is what the old folks would say,
Johnny couldn't see around the corner, but he was soon to have his day
Now they won't always be good days, they won't all be good days,
Keeping your faith in man, you know it ain't always safe,
Just as sure as I'm standing here, they won't all be good days,
Because something or else someone, is gonna'to trip up your parade
[Play me one Johnny]
Well now, Johnny done fell off that high horse of his today,
When boss man told him I can't use you anymore, here's your final pay,
Now ol' Johnny's trying to hustle up a job, going from door to door,
These days the companies are saying, "We don't take 'em your age anymore"
Johnny's asking, "What have I done to deserve all of this?"
And his old lady said, "Baby, don't you know that life is hit or miss?"
Some days the sun shines on the bad, just as well as the good,
Life is about learning lessons, be that it may, be that it should
Now they won't always be, they won't all be good days,
But keeping faith in yourself, you know that's always safe,
Just as sure as I'm standing here, there will be good days,
Because something or someone will help you on your way
Good days, they won't all be good days,
Good days, they won't all be good
They won't all be good days
