Their Lives Passed Them By
Babies speaking words of wisdom,
Even in the womb, they aren't spared from, impression,
If they live any length of time,
Innocence is not a permanent, condition
Oh Lord they're growing up too fast,
In a world that only knows black, and white,
What ever happened to values,
Knowing the difference between wrong and right
And their lives, passed them by,
If you get caught up in color,
Your life will pass you by,
If you get caught up in race,
Your life will pass you by,
And their lives, passed them by
It's the parents who preach hatred,
But in public, they pretend to love you, and sometimes me,
In the living room they watch the television,
Children are taught to believe all the propaganda they see, on the screen
I was in the town center just the other day,
A little child pointed at me and said, "Hey there black man, daddy said your kind are all dumb!",
His mommy covered his mouth and said,
"Excuse me mister, but I don't know where, he got that from"
And their lives, passed them by,
If you get caught up in color,
Your life will pass you by,
If you get caught up in race,
Your life will pass you by
And their lives, passed them by
Don't let your life, pass you by,
Don't let your life, pass you by,
Don't let your life, pass you by,
Don't let your life, pass you by,
Pass you by,
Pass you by
