I'm free on the sea
To chase the roadrunner
For the finest cuisine
With eyes shaped like money
Atop my mount I ride along
Weary of my trail
My coyote reassures and says
Just hold on to my tail
We venture past the monuments
My mind turns to a blur
My green body spots a twin
The coyote starts to swerve
This cactus holds the power
Without water I will vanish
I opened up and cowered
For the cactus itself was filled with maggots
Smoke eludes my nose
A feast that's so divine
I signal to approach
To my friendly canine
Surrounding the encampment
Stagecoaches and steads
Before I get a sight of meat
It dissipates and leaves
I started growling
My friend could no longer carry me
He scurried off in a panic
My coyote was far too famished
My spirits elevate
I'm ascending to the clouds
But from my doze I rise to hear
That same familiar growl
My call was answered hastily
Running here from the flowers
Saved me from the edge as
I was drenched in golden showers
I can't believe I was that coward
Seems I now must have to overpower
The senseless souls of this hopeless planet of vice
