Harry Styles - What Is Enough Lyrics

Harry Styles - What Is Enough Lyrics

In the early morning rain
+
With the flicker of a light
+
And the kisses of the waves
+
I'm wrestling through the shades
+
"It's not really the time"
+
Was it just another line?
+
Instead of "my arms are wide"
+
You dance until you're tired
+
Among the stars above
+
The friend and all those satellites
+
Do you?
+
I'm not wise enough
+
But I wrote you a letter just to burn it up
+
And watch it rise like you're in the sky
+
The ever loving night
+
Just wasn't enough
+
To help you understand
+
What you leave behind
+
I can tell you what it's like
+
To bury friends on Wednesday nights
+
Gather in a garden around the fire
+
You dance until you're tired
+
No, you don't and now you never will
+
Will you?
+
I'm not wise enough
+
To call for a conversation
+
And then back it up, right?
+
Like you're in the sky
+

Harry Styles - What Is Enough Video
(Show video at the top of the page)

"What Is Enough" is an unreleased song Harry Styles wrote for his friend and fellow One Direction bandmate Liam Payne and played during his ongoing Madison Square Garden residency.

The performance came on October 16th, exactly two years after Payne died at age 31 in Buenos Aires. Before introducing the song, Styles reflected on the people who helped him reach the stage and urged the crowd to look after one another.

"I feel incredibly lucky to get to play these shows here in New York, this building means a lot to me, as I said, and I feel incredibly proud when I get to look up there and see my name up there from the last time, But there's so many people in my life, friends and people that I've worked with, that I've never been able to do this without them, and, two years ago today, I lost one of those friends."

"I'm sure a lot of you have been through similar things; I hope you haven't, but... Really, it's just about looking after each other. There's so many more people than my name that's on that banner, there's so many more people behind it, so many people that've touched my life, in such special ways, I wouldn't be here without them."

"I'm gonna play a song that I wrote for my friend about two years ago, if that's alright, we'll get all through."
