In winter's chill the Bird of Joy lay sleeping
And I stood still in sorrow lost and cold.
My thoughts were bound in frost and silent weeping
I missed the one-so free so bright so bold.
Let my words be wings to warm your skies
And heal the heart that longs that cries.
Your smile returns the light it shows-
You rise again where the soul's wind blows.
Tears of joy they filled my aching heart
And called your spirit-"Please... return!""
Where love awaits you never to depart
Where once with you my soul would burn.
Now every flower in life is blooming wide
And in their bloom your face I find.
The world intoxicates with love inside
Your wings wrapped close embracing me.
You are mine as I am truly yours
For tears and joy-would you dare show me more?
If not then this I say to those apart:
"This was for you" from the depths of my heart.
Tears of joy they filled my aching heart
And called your spirit-"Please.... return!"
Where love awaits you never to depart
Where once with you my soul would burn.
