Somethin' Bad Lyrics by Miranda Lambert

Miranda Lambert Lyrics

Somethin' Bad Lyrics
(with Carrie Underwood)

Stand on the box, stomp your feet, get clapping
Got a real good feeling something bad about to happen

Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

[Miranda:]
Pulled up to the church but I got so nervous
Had to back it on up, couldn't make it to the service
Grabbed all the cash underneath my mattress
Got a real good feelin' something bad about to happen

[Carrie:]
Ran into a girl in a pretty white dress
Rolled down a window, where you heading to next?
Said I'm heading to the bar with my money out of the mattress
Got a feeling something bad about to happen...

[Chorus:]
Stand on the box, stomp your feet, start clapping
Got a real good feeling something bad about to happen
Drinks keep coming, throw my head back laughing
Wake up in the morning' don't know what happened
Whoah... Something bad
Whoah... Something bad

[Carrie:]
Now me and that girl that I met on the street
We're rollin' down the road, down to New Orleans
Got a full tank of gas and The money out of the mattress
Got a real good feelin' something bad about to happen

[Miranda:]
Bout to tear it up down in New Orleans
Just like a real-life Thelma & Louise
If the cops catch up, they're gonna call it Kidnapping
Got a real good feelin' something bad about to happen

[Chorus:]
Stand on the box, stomp your feet, start clapping
Got a real good feeling something bad about to happen
Drinks keep coming, throw my head back laughing
Wake up in the morning' don't know what happened
Whoah... Something bad
Whoah... Something bad

Stand on the box, stomp your feet, start clapping
Got a real good feeling something bad about to happen
Now the drinks keep coming, throw my head back laughing
Wake up in the morning' don't know what happened
(yeah, yeah, yeah)
Whoah... Something bad
Whoah... Something bad

Somethin' Bad Info:

Somethin' Bad is a duet by Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood. It was released as the second single from Miranda's album Platinum in advance of the album's release two weeks later.

The song was originally written as a female/male duet but Lambert didn't see it that way. Lambert explained: "We asked the writers to rewrite it for two girls and make it Thelma and Louise themed and they did. It's so perfect for us. It's really rock 'n' roll. We both have that theme on some songs throughout albums in our career. If we're going to collaborate, this is a great way to do it. She's such a great vocalist and artist and really pushes me as a singer to be better."

Miranda admitted to People Country that she was anxious about asking Carrie to record with her. She said: "To me, this is such a big deal that Carrie and I are singing together. It took me forever to write the email to ask her, like I was writing to someone I had a crush on and you don't want to mess it up."

"It took a week for her to get back to me and I was telling Blake, 'She hates me, she hates the song, she's never going to talk to me again, she's probably going to change her email address!' She finally wrote me back and said, 'I think it's awesome, let's do it!'"

Miranda bought Carrie a motorcycle as a gift in honor of their debut duet.
