Arctic Monkeys Quotes

"For me (music) is more of a recent thing. I mean, I've always liked music but I never thought I'd be in a band until this happened. I was probably thinking about being an actor or summat... well, when I was a little kid!"

"I never made an effort to play an instrument or anything. I used to play the organ a bit but I was crap at that. Being in a band has got me into music more than anything else - it wasn't the other way around."

It was 2002, we all got guitars for Christmas and started playing in my garage that summer, rehearsed there and in a warehouse for a bit for about a year. We did our first gig in June 2003 and we played a few gigs in and around Sheffield for a bit then started doing gigs outside of Sheffield about this time last year, recording demos while all this was going on.
